For students engaged in geological studies in North and South Carolina

MacCarthy Memorial Fund
To provide general support to the Department of Geological Sciences with preference given to the support of the MacCarthy Seismological Laboratory or other geophysical activities

To recognize a student for significant research contributions and publications

Walter H. Wheeler Fund
To recognize a student for outstanding teaching of introductory geology laboratories
