Professor Emeritus Paul Fullagar and the UNC Isotope Geochemistry Lab featured in National Geographic special

In a special that aired in summer 2010, Professor Emeritus Paul Fullagar, Associate Professor Drew Coleman, Jesse Davis (Ph.D 2010), Michael Tappa (M.S. 2009), Lecturer Michael Lester, Sarah Mazza and Katie Moore (class of 2011) were featured in the National Geographic channel special, "Treasure Tomb of the Warrior Queen."

Research in the UNC Isotope Geochemistry Lab on strontium isotopes in tooth enamel showed that people sacrificially buried with warrior Ya Chang, near queen Fu Hao's tomb, were in fact from the local area and not foreign captives as was previously thought.

You can jump to short scenes featuring UNC workers here and here, and see the more in-depth feature and explanation of the science here (part 1) and here (part 2).
