M 9.0 Earthquake off Japan
A magnitude 9.0 earthquake struck northern Japan today near the city of Sendai on the island of Honshu. The quake struck at 2:46 pm local time (12:46 am EST), and was followed by a destructive tsunami. For more information, please refer to:
