Astronaut field training
Prof. Allen Glazner spent 2 days in August in Los Alamos, New Mexico, helping to train the newest class of astronaut candidates. On this mission, Allen was assigned 2 astronauts to lead and instruct in the methods of basic to advanced field geology. They spent their time mapping volcanic rocks that erupted from the Valles Caldera between 5 and 1 million years ago, thrashing through the bushes, and preparing for future planetary exploration.
