Geological Sciences Homecoming
The Department will be hosting a Geological Sciences Homecoming in Chapel Hill on Saturday, November 3, 2012 in association with the annual GSA meeting in Charlotte (although you don’t have to attend the meeting to join in the fun). Chapel Hill is an easy two-and-a-half-hour drive from Charlotte and we may be able to provide transportation for meeting attendees who lack ground transportation. Our schedule for the Homecoming is:

10:00 am Lecture by Prof. Jonathan Lees in Mitchell Hall room 005
11:00 am Tour of Mitchell Hall and the newly renovated Wheeler Rock Garden
12:00 noon Lunch provided by the Department
1:30 Local geology field trip led by Kevin Stewart
3:30 Cocktail Social at the Carolina Inn
