My master’s project involves using CA-ID-TIMS U-Pb zircon geochronology to analyze the pattern of Cretaceous magmatic arc migration preserved in the plutonic rocks of the central Sierra Nevada batholith. I am working with samples from the Bass Lake Tonalite and Dinkey Creek Granodiorite and will also incorporate data from fellow graduate student Ryan Frazer’s analysis of the Mt. Givens Granodiorite.
I work with Drew Coleman in the Isotope Geochemistry Lab and am also the teaching assistant for Earth Materials: Minerals (GEOL 301). You can usually find me bundled up in my clean lab clothes (pajama pants and a fleece) or searching for minerals in the attic of Mitchell Hall.
When I’m not in Mitchell, I enjoy going to yoga, officiating Carrboro bingo, listening to music and drinking lots of Diet Coke. Don’t mess with Texas.
