I work with Jason Barnes in the Earth Surface Processes & Tectonics group studying bedrock channel morphology. To better understand the mechanisms of equilibrium channel adjustment to changes in rock uplift rates and substrate lithology, I am quantifying channel width, gradient, and sinuosity along over 120 rivers draining actively deforming folds of the Himalayan foreland. This is achieved through new methods of automated remote sensing analysis verified by fieldwork.
Apart from research, I enjoy the outdoors, traveling, growing vegetables, and knocking back a cold homebrew on a hot Chapel Hill evening.
